Biography

Commitment to people is what Dan is all about! Call Dan today to benefit from his lifelong strong belief in honest, dedicated Personal service!

A native of Fredericton, Dan moved to Halifax in 1969 after receiving a Diploma in Business Administration from The Saint John Institute of Technology. Dan spent 19 years working for CN Rail in Halifax, Dartmouth and Truro. For five years he was Treasurer of United Transportation Union Local 713 and spent most of his last seven years on the Railroad as a relieving General Yardmaster. Dan started Danielsons ~ Water 'N' Wine in South Centre Mall in Spryfield in 1992 and although he still owns the store he turned over the day to day operations to his staff when he became a Realtor in 2005. He spent 13 years involved in Scouting in Lower Sackville running a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack, Scout Troup and then serving as Chairman of the 7th Sackville Group Committee. Dan was also a founding member of the District 18 Business and Development Committee, as well as its Treasurer for several years. Dan now sits on the Board of Directors, and is currently serving as Vice Chairman, of the Spryfield and District Business Commission. While his Real Estate business encompasses all of HRM he is a tireless promoter of “Beautiful Downtown Spryfield” and the opportunities for growth and development in the community.

Dan and Linda have been married since 1970 and have two children, a son Jason who is a Locksmith in Halifax and a daughter Tangee who lives in Connecticut with her husband Scott and Linda & Dan's two grandchildren Samantha and Dylan. Dan’s mother Marg taught school for many years and his father Harold was the Fire Chief in Fredericton from 1945 to 1977. Dan's father also spent 40 years involved in scouting in Fredericton and not only Dan but both of his children also have followed in his footsteps over the years. Dan is an avid home winemaker, a former member of the Sackville Photography Club and when the opportunity arises, a bass fisherman. Golf is his next (and maybe biggest) challenge.
